3rd Blackheath International Chamber Music Festival

My favorite part of the year is when I get to play chamber music with my friends and talented musicians during the festival in Blackheath which I organise together with flautist Boris Bizjak.

The Festival journey began with the Opening Gala Concert on 27th October, featuring Vivaldi’s Four Seasons as well as two concertos he wrote for the virtuoso young women performers with whom he worked. From there, the first weekend’s concerts took on a musical tour of Baroque Europe, ending at the Prussian Court with the Bach family and their patrons. The second Festival weekend spanned the length of the late Classical to Romantic era, with works by Beethoven, Clara Schumann, Brahms, and their contemporaries, before crossing the Atlantic with Gustav Mahler and Cécile Chaminade in our final concert. We worked very hard but it was so exciting and had so much fun playing all this music together. You can find out more about each of the concerts and artists on the festival’s website www.bicmfestival.co.uk
