Violin Sonatas by Franck and Granados
In this recording Hedone Records presents Slovenian violinist Lana Trotovsek and the Spanish-Catalan pianist Maria Canyigueral with an attractive programme of romantic 19th and 20th century compositions by Enrique Granados, Cèsar Franck, Gerald Finzi and Lucijan Marija Škerjanc. The CD contributes to the violin and piano repertoire with a world premiere recording of Intermezzo Romantique, composed in 1934 by Lucijan Marija Škerjanc, one of Slovenia’s most prominent composers, and the inclusion of the seldom performed Violin Sonata by Enrique Granados to mark the centenary of the composer’s death.
